the Mind.

Our minds are funny spots, aren’t they? I often pray for a more compassionate heart, but in reading through John, I am struck by the mind of Christ.

Jesus knows, knows, knows what’s available. Jesus takes what is here, now, and depends on God. Water not only becomes wine, it becomes the best wine. A nobleman’s son lives as Jesus speaks these words, “Your son lives.” No empathy recorded, no rushing off to lay hands on—just a simple declaration of faith and in belief. Jesus uses 5 loaves and 2 fish that are close by, gives thanks, passes it off to disciples, and 5,000 are fed. Jesus takes a walk in the middle of the night, the sea notwithstanding. Actually, with standing, and walking even, on said sea.

What’s available? What’s the greater reality with the mind of Christ? Think about it.

For me—I need to stop thinking of the mind of Christ and start thinking with the mind of Christ. Making 2011 a Mind-full year! Wow! I’m eager!
