His heart

My sketchbook contains many heart pictures from the last few weeks. Every couple of days, the Lord gives me a new pic with things growing out of His heart, or as in this painting, the Lord releasing from His heart.

Some of the hearts are surrounded with a robe – a representation, I believe, of His authority, righteousness, holiness and purity.

The calla lilies can be a symbol of beauty and innocence and also of the resurrection of Jesus as they bear resemblance to a trumpet, representing victory. Thought to be the flower of the Archangel Gabriel, and his announcing trumpet. Calla lilies are in a family of their own, neither callas, nor lilies. Just like us! In this world, but not of this world.  That was pretty fun to discover after I painted the calla lilies.*

The Lord is eager to release His water, His nourishment, His thoughts through His Spirit, and indeed His love. His eyes roam the earth for those willing to receive, who make room for His love and are hungry for more. Those in a receiving pose, so to speak.

Putting all of this together, let’s position ourselves to receive all He is pouring from His heart! Jesus!

“God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” 1 John 4:16
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart…” Luke 10:27
“…perfect love casts out fear.” 1 John 4:18
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God…” 1 John 4:7
“For your love is better than wine…” Song of Solomon 1:2
“Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love.” Proverbs 7:18
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

Go in the love of Jesus today!

still faithful

His faithfulness still so touches my heart tonight. He is faithful in every second of every minute of every hour of every day. Faithful forever!

Never a doubt. He is always here. With us. With His people. Whom He loves with an everlasting love. …everlasting and eternally faithful.

He is faithful to us and we love back. It is His faithfulness that comes to us first. Joy unspeakable.

Abide in His faithfulness. Rest in His faithfulness. Love in His faithfulness. Trust in His faithfulness. Walk in His faithfulness. Abide in Him.

His Word says, “…then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness.” Isaiah 16:5

Be assured of His faithfulness. He will do it. Faithful forever.

Beauty for ashes. Especially tonite. 9-11.

Thank you, Jesus!

Only Believe.

befriend faithfulness

“Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.” Ps 37:3 (esv)

Befriend faithfulness. These words strike me this morning. I like the sound of them. They go together well. Like peanut butter and honey. They complement each other.

Faithful. Full of faith. Steadfast. Close. Rock solid. Trustful. (This may or may not be Webster’s. This is my heart.)

Now add the word “befriend.” To like and enjoy faithful. To enjoy being full of faith. To speak well of and do for. One step further, to lay down your life, to go out of your way, or to sacrifice for. That’s what befriend seems to me. Even to think and meditate on being faithful, like you would think of your friend or spouse, and smile, during the day. It feels good to “like” faithful and to live faithful, no matter the circumstances.

Consider Jesus. He, as always, takes it a step further and views from heaven. He is faithful. He is our friend. He is unconditionally steadfast, and solid. “Bless the Lord, my Rock…”

No one could be better. Befriend His faithfulness. Befriend faithful.

God bless you—abundantly!

Only believe!

“Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.” Ps 37:4-6
